Biography of a Professional

Born in Bremerhaven in Germany on 28th May, 1972, Herr Jachens did not have a smooth sail in his childhood.  Like all other children in the neighborhood he did not have the chances of the traditional student life. No formal school going like other children of his age group marked his childhood.  Yet he had a natural knack for technical studies and took to self learning of electrical works. Gradually he became apt in handling all types of electrical apparatus and also had the chances of getting some formal training in the pre-youth days.  Ultimately he came out successful as one of the skilled labor electronics technicians.

Days in the Naval Services

His family had a tradition of opting for adventurous jobs.  His mother was a secretary in the naval offices whereas his father was fire fighter. He joined the Naval Services in the year 1992 and continued for six years as one of the leading skilled labor electronics technicians there up to 1998.  For all these six years Herr Jachens was working at the naval aviation base in a calibration lab. He was dedicated, determined, and disciplined.  In the process he was validating specific measurement techniques and equipments.  The comparison was about the magnitude or correctness made or set with one device and another measurement using a couple of devices. He became quite apt in using the standard device and another unit under test or UUT device and test instrument or TI device.

Good Bye Navy

As senior non-commissioned officer Herr Jachens was posted as Sergeant Major in Navy.  In 1998 he left the Navy and started his own profession.  Despite the fact that his family has a tradition of serving as his mother is working as a secretary at a naval base and his father is a firefighter, Herr Jachens decided to have his own independent carrier and profession. And after the initial struggle he gradually got a foothold in the rank of professionals.  So in the year 1998 after six years naval profession, he left navy and reverted to his father’s profession of fire fighters and gradually earned a reputation there.

The family influence

Herr Jachens has his own family with the mother working in a naval base as secretary and the father as a fire fighter. His two sisters are based in Germany and USA whereas his only brother is also in USA.  It seems that his initial slant towards the naval job was an offshoot of the influence of his mother.  However since 1998 he chose to change and take up the profession of his father.  Today he is one of the leading professional firefighter and paramedic who has earned his own place in the social circles as one of the most reliable professionals.

End of solo life

After about nine years of solo life Herr Jachens locked himself into the wedding locks in the year 2007 and is having a happy married life ever since. His wife is not only his life partner but also supports in his profession and together they are making their new business grow gaining its foothold in the industry.

The Professional Life

Profession of firefighter and paramedic apart, Herr Jachens has also taken to photography since 1996.  Gradually this is becoming his main occupation where his wife is also supporting him full heartedly. He started it all with a Canon Rebel G initially.  Gradually he took up the digital photography by converging onto a Canon EOS D60.  As the technological advancement and professional demands got increasing over the passage of time he again migrated to a 5D Mark II in the year 2008.  Growing demands of profession also got him recognition all around and thus he is now considered to be one of the finest in the profession and has been widely acclaimed for his achievements. Practice makes a professional perfect and with more and more assignments pouring in  Herr Jachens is also acquiring new skills in digital photography using newer methods.

New technology and equipments

As the equipments grew with the growth of professional excellence of the Herr Jachens also got a couple of flashes and strobes.  Strobes are used for indoor shooting and at the same time for the outdoor shooting as well.  In the outdoor they are used owing to the portable lighting system.  He works with a Mac Pro and also Mac Book pro His technical skills and proficiency in handling the equipments has spread his reputation in the market and people who used his services once started coming back to him again and again.

Web designing

With the Internet and World Wide Web taking the market by storms, Herr Jachens also took to them gradually. In the year 2002 he started learning and using photoshop use and imaging.  For this he did not have any professional training but his proficiency was self styled and based on autodidactic. Gradually he took also to the intricacies of web designing and in the process learnt Dreamweaver gaining expertise in the art of web designing. This expedited his migration from the normal photography to the arena of digital art as he had to manipulate photos a lot.

Departure from the traditional

Over the years Herr Jachens developed so much expertise and efficiency in the image manipulation that he started getting orders for portraits and retouching.  The other look he used to give his work has been acclaimed by all concerned and earned him laurels both from the customers and the critics. With the growth of digital photography and image manipulation as one of the major components of business promotion online, the departure from the traditional has helped him earning laurels.

Looking forward

With everything under his sleeves Herr Jachens now looks forward to brighter prospects and new vistas opening up for him to show his talents and use his mettle.  As fortune favors the brave it is expected that he will get his due credits in time and he is looking forward to that with expectation and confidence. He looks forward to the day when he will earn his own place in the market among the leading digital photographers.  Feedbacks from the market have been quite positive and the day does not seem far off.

Embarking onto panoramic photography

Starting from 2003 Herr Jachens has taken up loads of panoramic photography in different cities. From 2006 onwards he also started doing stock photography.  He sold his photographs for both online and offline marketing in print media and Internet through the istockphoto.com. While the prospects are good and like other fields he has also excelled in the field of panoramic photography. In his quest for doing something out of the ordinary he came up with several funny and strange images.  It does not mean that he always go for the strange and the funny.  He is equally apt at traditional photography.  Keeping balance always enables him to maintain his profile at iStock.

Life partner turns business partner

It is truly said that behind every successful man there is always a woman. The prophecy has turned out to be prophetic in case also. His wife has been associating with him wholeheartedly.  In fact she is one of the major associates and takes a very creative and complimentary part in his creations and big credit is due to her for the laurels he has own in the field of photography and digital imaging. The couple works together thus sharing each others moments of joy, sorrow, anxiety, tension, and ecstasies.

The clients

Besides the local clients, most of who are permanent for Herr Jachens, Lufthansa systems was the biggest client company.  Lufthansa ordered an image for the advertisement campaign for their business.  They also obtained the services for their advertising campaign at Dubai. Similar orders are also coming up from others and he expects to have a foot hold in the international market for digital photography, image manipulation and panoramic works soon.

The freelancer

Though he is still a freelancer and works on contract basis for photography and digital arts for manipulation of images, he has not thought of going over to fixed job profession.  Perhaps the thought of losing his independence is a bit too much for him to consider such salaried profession where the scope of innovations and improvisation are both very limited. Instead he has opted for the independent profession of photography. It is open for the industry to take benefits of his skills and expertise with appropriate assignments.
